The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic to end September 5th as nighttime hours for Animal Kingdom are reduced

Just a few months after Animal Kingdom began offering expanded nighttime entertainment and attractions, Disney has decided to roll back the late night hours and also cancel The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic. Animal Kingdom was open until 11 pm for most of the summer and debuted a suite of special offerings including: nighttime safaris, a light and projection show on the Tree of Life, street entertainers and musicians, and a new night time show The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic. Disney has now decided to roll back the nighttime hours for Animal Kingdom, with the park closing as early at 6 pm on some nights in the fall. The new attractions and entertainment will still be offered (with the exception of The Jungle Book Show), but guests will have fewer hours to be able to experience them.

The expanded night time offerings got off to a rocky start when the planned nighttime spectacular, Rivers of Light, was delayed due to technical difficulties and had to be replaced for the summer season with The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic. The new Jungle Book themed show utilized some elements from Rivers of Light, but the show was hastily thrown together and received mixed reviews from guests. The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic will have its last showing on September 5th, although there is still no official word on when, if ever, Rivers of Light will be ready to debut to the public.
