Hollywood Walk of Fame Adds Disney Stars

This week, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced their Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2018. Among the names to receive stars on the Walk of Fame are several with Disney connections.

Mickey Mouse has had a star on the Walk of Fame since 1978…now Minnie Mouse will be joining him.

Soon-to-be Disney Legend Mark Hamill (Star Wars) will finally receive his star on the Walk of Fame.

As will Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the music for Moana and will appear in the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns. Miranda is being honored with a star for his stage work (Hamilton, In The Heights).

Gamora herself, Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar), will also get a star on the Walk of Fame.

Others with Disney connections that will receive stars include Jeff Goldblum (upcoming Thor: Ragnarok), Shondra Rhimes (ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy & Scandal) and Anthony Anderson (ABC’s black-ish).

For Television: Anthony Anderson, Gillian Anderson, Simon Cowell, RuPaul Charles, Taraji P. Henson, Eric McCormack, Ryan Murphy, Niecy Nash, Mandy Patinkin, Shondra Rhimes, Steve Irwin

For Recording: Mary J. Blige, Sir Richard Branson, Petula Clark, Harry Connick, Jr., Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Carrie Underwood, “Weird Al” Yankovic

For Radio: Steve Jones

For Live Theatre/Live Performance: Charles Aznavour, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bernie Mac

The star ceremonies have not been scheduled for 2018, but are usually announced 10 days in advance.
