Main Street Electrical Parade ending its run at Walt Disney World on October 9th

The Main Street Electrical Parade will take its last trip down the Walt Disney World parade route on October 9th of this year. It will then travel back to Disneyland for a limited time engagement beginning in early 2017. The Main Street Electrical Parade returned to Walt Disney World for a “limited time engagement” for the Summer Nightastic promotion in 2010.

There is no official word on the fate of the parade after its Disneyland encore performance or what will replace the parade in Walt Disney World. There has been some speculation that Disneyland’s Paint the Night parade might come to Walt Disney World, but it has been confirmed that Paint the Night will be performed at Disneyland through the holiday season, so it is likely that there will be no nighttime parade at Walt Disney World until after the new year. The other possibility for a replacement could include Tokyo Disneyland’s Dreamlights parade, but Disney has not made any statements about this parade moving locations. The previous nighttime parade, SpectroMagic, was dismantled shortly after The Main Street Electrical Parade returned to Walt Disney World in 2010.
