Episode 713 – WDW BGM Madness Results/2023 Predictions Revisited

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, Bryce Yelverton and Sarah Evans join me again to reveal the winner of Walt Disney World Background Music Madness. I know we begin this bracket-style tournament to find out the #1 piece of music audio in all of Walt Disney World way back in March of 2023, and it has taken us a long time to get to this point. We are finally ready to reveal the winner that you, the listeners, voted for!

Then, we’ll revisit our Disney predictions for 2023 to see which ones came true and which ones didn’t.

Episode 712 – Christmas Special 2023

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, we continue our tradition at All About the Mouse of celebrating Christmas with Christmas audio from the parks. One of the things I love about Christmas is waking up Christmas morning and opening up presents with the family by the tree with Christmas music playing in the background. I’ve curated this year’s audio of Disney music, all from Magic Kingdom, just for that purpose. You can huddle around the tree with your family and enjoy these various pieces of Christmas audio from Magic Kingdom in the background or you can pop on your headphones, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in the park enjoying these special Christmas presentations from Walt Disney World. Either way, I hope you enjoy this week’s show and have a very merry Christmas!

Episode 711 – Castles

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, I have a major announcement to make at the very top. Then, I’ll take you on an in-depth look at the Disney castles from the theme parks around the world. As most of you know, Walt Disney started the legacy of the Disney company’s iconic castle logo way back in 1955 when he opened Disneyland with Sleeping Beauty castle placed directly in the main view of guests as they walked into his park. This week, I’ll take you a little further into that castle with some stories and fun facts and then we’ll visit all of the other castles around the world and talk about their inspirations, the attractions within them, which one is the tallest, and which one almost wasn’t even a castle at all.

Episode 709 – Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Visual Companion

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, I’m very excited to bring back author Dave Bossert to talk about his new upcoming book “Tim Burton’s The Nighmare Before Christmas Visual Companion”. Thirty years ago, Dave had the distinction of earning a credit on this fan-favorite holiday classic as an effects animator. Years later, he decided to interview Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Henry Selick, and many other talented individuals who all worked together to take “The Nightmare Before Christmas” from the Christmas poem written by Tim Burton to the classic film it is today. After recording hours of interviews, Dave set out to compile their stories into a single book that would come to be described as the definitive telling of the behind the scenes making of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”.

Episode 708 – Monsters, Inc.

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, we’re taking an in-depth look at the 2001 hit Disney Pixar film “Monsters, Inc.” starring the voice talents of Billy Crystal and John Goodman. This light-hearted comedy about monsters who scare children in order to collect their screams to power their city Monstropolis, started out years earlier as a discussion topic over lunch between several Pixar filmmakers during the making of Toy Story. This blue sky idea went through multiple iterations before finally settling on the film we know today with James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski. It went on to spawn a prequel (“Monsters University”), an animated short, a Disney+ television series, several theme park attractions in Disney parks around the world, and more! Bryce Yelverton joins me for a look at Mosters, Inc!

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, we are finally getting around to revealing the results of Round 4 of WDW Background Music Madness where our final 4 Walt Disney World background music loops competed against each other for the top spot and you, the listeners, voted for your favorite in each match. Bryce Yelverton and Sara Evans join me again as we announce the winners between the Epcot Entrance loop circa 2016 and Tomorrowland and The Jungle Cruise queue audio and Main Street U.S.A. The results from these matches will reveal our final 2 pieces of Walt Disney World audio that will go head to head against each other for the championship! Episode 694 – Walt Disney World Thrill Rides

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, I’m showcasing the 19 thrill rides in all of Walt Disney World’s 4 major theme parks. Many people know that Disney has some of the best family attractions found in any theme park around the world, but sometimes I feel like not enough credit is given to Disney’s many thrill rides. In fact, I’ve routinely heard my friends refer to Disney parks as being “for kids” or “where you want to go if you want to ride kiddie rides”. Walt Disney World has some pretty thrilling attractions with some fascinating facts behind the rides and amazing story and details attached to them. Together, we’ll take a look at all 19 of these attractions in Walt Disney World and what makes each of them so unique and special in their own way.

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, I’m joined by special guest author James Warda to discuss some of the answers to a question that I’m sure every one of us has asked multiple times, “How does Disney do that?” We all have a memory of that moment in time that we experienced an attraction or a show in the theme parks and we came away from the experience so completely blown away. Whether it was the impressive technology, the emotional impact, or the way the experience achieved something we thought was completely impossible and against the laws of physics, the question is always the same…..”How does Disney do that?”. James Warda set up a site devoted to Disney fans sharing their experiences and then teamed up with a former Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering to help answer some of these questions in the upcoming book titled, “How Does Disney Do That?”. We’ll talk about these and a whole lot more!

Our good friend and loyal listener, Sam Polkinghorne, who follows the show from all the way over in New Zealand, has contributed much of the audio that’s been shared on the show in recent years. He’s an avid appreciator of Disney music, and he knows how much we love it as well. He asked me recently what my favorite audio from Walt Disney World was, and I told him the music from Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge. So, he sent me over some unique music that sets the scene in those WDW locations perfectly. On this week’s show, and on Christmas Day, I thought it would be nice to share this with you as well.

We’re also going to talk about another well-known resort with multiple theme parks right down the street from Disney….Universal Studios. As Disney fans, many of us are partial to Disney theme parks and the Disney brand itself, but many of us (myself included) also really enjoy Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, City Walk, and the Universal property hotels. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay at just about every one of the resort hotels on Disney property in the “Disney bubble”. I’ve also spent countless hours touring and enjoying many of these resort hotels even when I haven’t been staying at them. They all have something unique to offer Disney guests and they all contain that special Disney magic. However, many of these hotels have captivated me in various different ways, and I’ve accepted the task of putting them in order from my favorite #1 resort to my least favorite (but still pretty awesome) resort. Episode 680 – Haunted Mansion for Halloween

Bryan RipperPodcast

On this week’s show, we’re getting festive with a special Halloween episode of All About the Mouse. It’s no secret that The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Not only does it have some of the best effects that have stood the test of time, but it has a story that resonates throughout the mansion that has become both legend and lore at the same time. Behind the scenes, the creation of The Haunted Mansion has an equally mesmerizing story that, believe it or not, goes back to before Walt’s Disneyland park was ever built. This week, I’d like to share some of these stories with you as well as some attraction audio from Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion and Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday featuring Jack Skellington and the rest of the gang from Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Against all of my better judgement, we decided to take our family to do theme parks in Orlando in the month of August, the hottest time of the year. While there were many moments of hot, sweaty, misery, there were also some fun times we had along the way. We even got them chance to partake in some brand new experiences like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Harmonious at Epcot, breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Volcano Bay waterpark at Universal Orlando, and much more. We don’t know what we’ll end up talking about or where the conversation will take us, but we do know that, whatever it is, will be full of varying opinions, a lot of laughs, and who knows, maybe even a little bit of controversy.

5 Things I Can’t Wait To Do in Walt Disney World After The Summer

Bryan RipperBlog

As a Floridian who has the luxury of being able to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks whenever I want, I almost never venture out into the parks in between the months of June and September when the Florida heat and crowds are at its highest peak. So, naturally, there tends to be a buildup of new things that have opened at the parks in the meantime that I can’t wait to experience once the summer heat and crowds have died down. Sariah is a Disney fan and author of several best-selling romance novels including “Roommaid”, “The Seat Filler”, and “The Paid Bridesmaid”. Her new novel, “Cinder-Nanny”, is a modern and somewhat different take on the timeless Cinderella classic love story where Diana Parker plays nanny for a family while on vacation in Aspen, Colorado. Despite possessing none of the necessary requirements for the job, she cons her way into the job in order to help pay for her sister’s mounting medical bills. Her job takes her to a lavish charity fundraiser in the Rocky Mountains where she meets her own version of a Prince Charming, and as the two slowly fall for each other, it becomes more and more evident that Diana will have to come clean with the truth about her con.

We’ll review all attractions, dining, snacks, shopping, and other details of the park and ask ourselves the question, “If were Imagineers would we keep, change, or replace them?” What would you change? Is there an attraction that is perfect just the way it is? And what detail would you just completely scrap and replace with something brand new?
