On this week’s show, we’re revisiting a topic I talked about back on Episode 516, where I did an in-depth look at the Disney-Pixar film “Inside Out”, where the idea came from, and how it was developed. My special guest this week is a fellow podcaster and psychologist, and he’s going to take us deeper into the film and point out some examples that clearly show the film-makers went to great lengths to do their research and incorporate real-life psychological elements to Riley’s emotions, subconscious, and behaviors.

On this week’s show, my special guest Nate Evans and I take a look at The Walt Disney Company’s most recent CEO Bob Iger. We’ll talk about his early life and career at ABC, how he came to work for Disney and ultimately be selected by Michael Eisner, and his accomplishments as CEO over the last 15 years including the acquisitions of Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, and Pixar and the rise of the company’s stock price along with theme park tickets and more.

Episode 516 – Inside Out

On this week’s feature discussion show, we’re diving deep for an in-depth look at Disney- Pixar’s 2015 emotional film “Inside Out”. The star-studded cast featuring Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, and more isn’t the only thing that makes this film special. The idea for a story about a young girl growing up with a complex range of emotions living inside of her head as a colorful cast of characters was actually one that Director Pete Docter had years before the film was ever made, and it came to him based on a real life experience with his own 9 year old daughter, Ellie. Together, we’ll look at the story behind the film and what makes “Inside Out” a film that, in my opinion, deserves a spot right alongside Disney classics like “Pinocchio”and “Robin Hood” and Pixar classics like “Finding Nemo” and Monsters Inc.”
